Things to Make: Crochet Shamrock Garland Pattern

Top o' the morning, to ye!

I know St. Patrick's Day is still a couple of weeks off, but I thought it would be fun to share my Crochet Shamrock Garland pattern here, so you can all make one to bring in some festive Irish decor for the holiday!

Don't you feel so lucky? ;)

Materials Needed:

  • Size I crochet hook
  • Small amount of any green worsted weight yarn

Abbreviations:

  • ch = chain
  • st = stitch
  • dc = double crochet
  • trc = treble crochet
  • sl st = slip stitch
  • hdc = half-double crochet
  • rem = remaining

For Shamrocks:

Three-Leaf Clover:

Ch 3, join with a sl st to 1st ch to form a loop.
Rnd 1: {ch 3, 1 trc, 1 dc, 1 trc, ch 3, sl st into loop}; repeat 3 times total.
Stem: Ch 5, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sl st rem ch sts. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Four-Leaf Clover:

Ch 5, join with a sl st to 1st ch to form a loop.
Rnd 1: {ch 3, 1 trc, 1 dc, 1 trc, ch 3, slip stitch into loop} repeat 4 times total.
Stem: Ch 5, hdc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in rem ch sts. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Garland:

Ch 25, 1 sc in top of shamrock, ch 10, repeat until all shamrocks are joined, end with 25 ch. Fasten off.

On my little garland I used Red Heart Super Saver yarn, and alternated between Spring Green and Paddy Green...I LOVE the way it turned out!!

I don't usually post pictures of my fireplace mantle, because the parlor is quite dark...so please forgive the glares from the windows on the mirror!!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
